My aunt & uncle are kinda rich. For my older cousin's birthday, they got her a car (Brand new Lexus, it was really nice).

When she came out to see it, the dice weren't on the mirror, but in the backseat. Because of this, she threw a giant fit. She told her parents (my aunt and uncle) that she hated them, that she hated her own life, and that she would never drive the car.

So I told her that she was a spoiled brat and that she should be thankful, and she's rude. That got her mad, and I got in trouble because of it. She's lucky that she even got a car.

Don't think I'm a spoiled rich brat because i'm not (my mom asked to put a Big Mac on layaway).

Why are people like this?

Amen. She IS lucky she got a car... and a brand new Lexus? Girls like her need to be taken out and whipped for a few days, they have NO CONCEPT of what it is like to actually work for your money and have to buy things for yourself.

It sucks now, but know in the long run you are better off for having that lay-away Big Mac rather than a Lexus.

I wouldn't deal with this cousin until she apologized to you. I can't believe her parents didn't take the keys away and return the car to the dealership.

This is a PRIME example of why our society has declined so much lately. Teens think they are entitled to fancy new cars, big birthday parties, etc and don't work for what they want.

Oh... wow
I WISH I got a brand new Lexus for my birthday
I am 18 and I STILL DO NOT have a car. However, I have my eye on a yellow volkswagon beatle.
Anyway, she should be happy she got a car. My friend's parents are both doctors and she didn't even get a lexus for her 16th birthday. She however does have a Honda Civic but those aren't that expensive and that wasn't until she was almost 17. And my friend isn't a spoiled brat. She is thankful for what she has.
Your cousin has been spoiled her whole life. It is partly her parents fault for buying her everything she wants.

First off, one group of teachers does not represent the entire group. Just because we have one greedy bunch of 'em, or hell a large number, does not mean that, by principle, anyone of the teaching profession are greedy socialists. Second, if you really think they are overpaid, then perhaps you have a better idea as to the amount of which they should be paid to essentially prepare the next generation? If you think you're better at teaching than they are, then you can try to take up the necessary qualification in our country and then do the same amount of work, for less pay. Third, let us suppose for one moment that they are overpaid and spoiled. What do you want to do about it? Fourth, no, teaching is not the easiest paying job on earth. The only people who would think that are the worst parents possible, who expect that teachers do what parents should be doing, and not get paid for the trouble. And of course they must first separate from themselves the assumption that raising one or a few kids is the same as teaching ten-through-thirty different kids every year. Fifth, teachers do not work for ONLY nine months. They must spend their summers preparing for the next school year. If they are not making enough from teaching alone, they will also have to take up other jobs during the summer to make up for lost income. You wanna fire every teacher on earth on the basis that a few of them think they are not getting what they need to do their job properly? Go ahead and see what happens. Who are going to teach the students? Cheap Asians that don't speak English are the only real source of replacements, because everyone else would want the same benefits.

Well from the soiund of it even though she gets all the physical things she wants she is not happy. Things are not what make people happy. I know that when you do not have a lot of money you think it could make you happy. It can not. It soundsw like she is lacking the basic need all kids have. Love from her family. Her parents have tried to show her love by buying her things rather then being there for her and making her feel secure. So if she acts like she hates something she will get some sort of attemntion from them which is all she wanted in the first place. Just a guess!

I have a cousin the same way. Is she an only child? Children that don't have siblings (and have rich parents) are spoiled brats.

I was never spoiled either. I also had a younger brother i had to share everything with. Tell your cousin she a spoiled rich brat and tell her to get a job. Maybe that will set her straight, working for her own money, takking orders from someone other then her parents.

if that doesn't work, try not to talk to her, unless absolutly nessecary.

Good gosh.. she is pictured in the dictionary as spoiled little rich kid!! I would have slapped her for acting like that. I have been spoiled all my life.. but I was never disrespectful with anything that was bought for me. I never got a Lexus.. I was happy with the little ford escort!! I did not give a crap about some stupid dice. Her parents should place a for sale sign on the car and tell her what a shame it is that she gave up a car for her immaturity. I know that is what I would do.. but then again.. when you spoil your children like that.. you never think about what you are doing to their future.. she will never learn anything and always be a little brat!

She's that way because her parents let her be that way. They give her what she wants, the way she wants it, when she wants it. How else would she be? Naturally, since she's gotten everything she's ever asked for, she would be angry that the dice didn't appear to be there. She's not used to not getting her own way at every moment and when she has thrown these temper tantrums in the past, mommy and daddy run around all upset, trying to make her happy. If it's gotten her what she's wanted all of her life, why would she change? She got angry at you calling her on it because most people don't and she's embarrassed to recognize the truth. It won't always work for her. Be grateful that you are the way you are.

Because her parents spoil her and never disciplined her or taught her the value of anything. They did a poor job of raising her, and this is the product of their (lack of) effort.

Not much you or anyone else can do about it. Either she'll eventually grow up, or society will make very sure that she's put in her place and leads a miserable existence until she can fix herself otherwise.

She is a 'spoiled brat' because her parents have allowed her to be this way! She needs to earn what she receives!
I see no reason for you to get into trouble for telling the truth - someone needs to apologize to you.
