Definitely not. I had over a hundred channels, and watched about 3 regularly.

I have sky plus which i do really love cos I record all my favourite programmes and watch them when I get chance. The only thing is, its expensive. Don't be fooled with the movie channels, they are a waste of money cos they never show anything new. Even if you don't subscribe to the movie package you can still order boxoffice films which are the newer ones anyway. I get the sports package for my husband, and the knowledge package is good if you are into that sort of thing. Just make sure you only get what channels you know you will watch.

Hello,
Take a look at Sky's website to see what channels you really want (see sources). Most Sky channels repeat programs throughout the day, which can be annoying. Are you going to have enough time to watch Sky to compensate for the monthly fee? On the whole Sky is a very good service indeed. If you get Sky+ you are able to pause live TV and you can also record all your favorite programs too. The normal Sky box doesn't include recording functions but does contain all the normal features. You can set reminders for TV shows or films, watch Box Office movies on 'Sky Box Office' and see all the weeks Television via an easy to use Sky Guide.
Don't forget there is also Freeview which is very good (see the link below to see if you can get it in your area). On Freeview you get a decent amount of channels including 'Film Four' for films and 'The Hits' and 'TMF' for music. As well as BBC Three, E4, Sky Three and all DAB radio stations. There are also news channels such as ‘Sky News’ and ‘BBC News 24’ and there are even channels for the children. To get Freeview all you need to get is a compatible box and that's it. There is no monthly subscription to pay; you only pay for the box. They seem to add more channels as time goes on. ‘Five Life’ and ‘Five US’ are the latest ones.
If you can afford it, Sky is no bad thing. However Freeview should give you more than enough to watch.
All the best,
Q&A

yes and no like normal telly sometimes everything is on at the same time on different channels and other times you struggle to find something to watch and when you do find something you find you've seen it a million times before. as for channel surfing you can look at the sky guide on the telly select what you want to watch and a reminder that thew programme is about to start will come up a min before

Its a total rip off, most of the programmes are repeats or years old, now they have tons of those gambling and phone in channels, shopping channels and not much of anything else, if you really want it then go for the basic package or have a look at the new package that Virgin have brought out, seems a better deal for you money that one, going to pack sky in ourselves.

I would say a big YES! For a start, it keeps the clouds in place, and I love clouds. I like ones that look like bunnies.
Secondly, without sky, there would be no rain and everyone would get thirsty, and that, you have to agree is no good.
Lastly, without sky, we would not be able to fly away on holiday, because where would the planes go - oh yeah, where would the birds live?
Go on, be a champ and give me the best answer - you have to admit I was imaginative!

God yes!!! Terrestrial t.v is bloody awful these days.We were without Sky for a couple of months when w moved house & missed it like crazy.Glad to have it back now.I suppose it all depends what sort of stuff you like to watch-we love CSI etc and there's tons of similar things dramas & factual. Bones is good,S.V.U's on loads,Close To Home etc...loads of comedy stuff, documentaries, we've just had to get Sky+ coz there's too much choice!!!!

I don't think it's good value for money. Too many repeats, and crawling with adverts. Freeview is a good option - not as many channels but they're more or less equal with the best ones you get on Sky.
