Water itself is colorless.

Because the absorption which gives water its color is in the red end of the visible spectrum, you see blue, the complementary color of orange, when observing light that has passed through several meters of water.

Pure water has no color, no odor, no taste. Minerals or plants in it will give it color that may be almost anything from bright blue, to green, to brown, to almost black. It may also seem to have color due to the surface under it like the blue walls and floor of a swimming pool, or light reflecting from it as in red at sunset or blue on a sunny cloudless day.
