According to CIA studies terrorism drive people away from the cause. Like the recent terrorist attack to the Bagdad market, would drive Iraqi people against the cause of the terrorists and bring more support for the American troops. Could that be part of the plan of assimilation?

Is not like they haven't use that tactic before, it is well documented.

I think it depends on the person...

Its fight or flight... some stay and fight, others flee...

Could that be part of the plan of assimilation? I thought this was a pretty good question until I read this sentence. Now I have to go and see if you are one of the "The Government Planned and Executed 9/11" nuts.

Yes terrorism typically does drive people to resent the terrorists cause. Do you think that having your little child blown up in front of you is going to make you see the light and convert to whatever it is the terrorists believe? However what terrorism does is to create unrest, fear and panic within a population. How busy do you think that market that got attacked will be from now on? I ain't shopping there. What good is freedom if you have to scurry through town on the lookout for the next wannabe martyr?

What brings people into the terrorist fold is low education, poverty and oppression of the people. Why would someone choose to blow themselves up? Their life sucks because they are dirt poor and living in a krap hole, they don't know any better to understand that they aren't doing any good and their leaders have them convinced that becoming a martyr is the only way out of their terrible existence and into the waiting arms of all them virgins.

I am not even going to elaborate on the assimilation comment.

no it is a tool to create fear. it is used by the government to control. of course the CIA is an expert in terrorist attacks, so to say it drives them away from the cause is a good statement from them. but it does drive them toward what the objection was.
