I thought we were buying a water saving shower head but the one we purchased a few months ago seems to run out all the hot water in one shower (which leaves me in the freezing cold!). Can anyone tell me what a good gallons per minute number is? Thanks!

Depending on the flow rate of your home, a shower can use up to 4 gallons per minute of hot water.

Sounds like your hot water tank is the problem... I have the exact same issue in my house and am just making arrangements to get the tank replaced... it is just too tired to keep up.

Colt Queen ... You may need a bigger water heater. In the meantime, see if the flow rate is adjustable. Many shower heads let you twist or somehow adjust the flow to your taste. If there is an adjustment on the head you're using, it may presently be set for a full flow. Next time you shower, see if it adjusts in some way or another. Good luck with it.

that could rely on the bathe head, yet water moving quickly does not immediately advise extra water / minute. turn on a backyard hose. The water shoots out perhaps 3 ft. Now placed your thumb over the tip so as that it shoots out 20 ft or extra. The water is moving extra immediately by using smaller establishing, yet while measured, there is actual much less water according to minute getting used.

Unless you have a drench showerhead, one shower is not adequate water heating, if your heater is electric, one of the elements is bad, if gas, the dip tube is bad, or it's time to replace it.
