I'm extremely partial to old U2: Boy & October albums. Also check out Bauhaus' The Sky's Gone Out (Third Uncle Rocks!!!! I love you Petey!), Tin Star's Thrill Kisser, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, David Bowie's Low, David Gray's Life in Slow Motion, The Rolling Stones' Some Girls, PJ Harvey's Stories From the City Stories From the Sea. That should give you some variety.
