ok when i click to go to system resotre it telles me that system restore has been turned off by group policy and to contact the domain admin. i dont know what all this means so could some one show me how i can turn on my system restore please! i am the admin of my computer with an admin account so i should have all admin things enabled so i dont know whats going on here thanks to those who answer!

Log on as admin>Start>All Programs>Accessorie>System Tools>System Restore>In the next box that opens, on the left side at the bottom is a link for "System Restore Settings", click that. Another box will open with 7 tabs at the top. Under the System Restore tab, check to make sure there is NOT a tick mark inside the box where it says "Turn off Stystem Restore on all drives". If there is a tick there, uncheck it. If there isn't one, maybe your computer is confused, so check it, then uncheck it, hit apply and ok and try again.
If it's still not working, there could be issues in the registry ....might be time for a format and start fresh!

Windows XP system restore is turned on and off at the control panel. Launch control panel click "Performance and Maintenance", then click "System" now choose the "System Restore" tab.
