I'm doing a project for English. We had to read a book and make a commercial about it. I need ideas for the script and what to do. I read The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. Will you please help me?

A commercial? Oh....OK...you mean a "video" of the book. Hmmmmm....I've not read anything from Nicholas Sparks.

First, make a list of all the characters in the story. Next to their names, find classmates you think best fit their physical descriptions. Put that aside for now.

Then....and this flexes your creative powers (of which you have and are about to let 'em fly loose). Imagine a 30 second box office movie film trailer (complete w/ that resonant voice of Don LaFonatine--the movie voice guy). Imagine which scenes from the book you'd like to use: short, but they get the idea.

Ok.....now, with that written out, comes scouting around for locations to shoot the scenes....and whatever costumes or wardrobe is needed. Might have the best friend help out here.

Now.....comes the diplomatic phase of the project: approaching these classmates you've listed....and getting them to 'star' in this video project--for FREE--uh.....volunteer.....ok...like...."I can't pay out any salary to you for doing this" (this ought to be fun).

Offer stands firm, without neogation--NO CASTING COUCH.

And now comes the fun part of coordinating all these people, wardrobe, location, scene lighting (if necessary), video shooting schedule....etc....etc.

I hope if you take this advice, the project snags you an "A-plus".

And you get to see all the fun and work this takes....and this is just a 30 second and/or 60 second movie trailer!!!!
