Well more than likely, usually, yes. BUT I was told i was having a little girl @ 20 weeks, so being my first, you can imagine after my baby shower i had everything pink. Then the big day comes and viola, here's my little boy with nothing to wear but a pink dress. So although they say they are accurate it depends on how they are sitting, or, how their little legs are, i mean there are many ways for them to make mistakes so from my own perspective i say NO. You should have seen me trying to return all that pink stuff , ughhhhh

The baby is developed down there at 13 weeks, but its not easy to see it on the scan until about 18 weeks. By 20 they certainly know what theyre seeing.

However, short of the child being born nothing is 100%. But at this point in the baby's growth theres little chance that the vagina and lips could be confused for a penis and testicals.

Simply put, no. Many people still get a surprise when the sonographer has told them the sex. The percentage of correct sexing is very high, but they do make the occasional mistake, depending on the position of the baby etc during the scan. If she says she was that sure tho, chances are she's right

The test ought to continually be precise. from time to time, if the child is mendacity in a humorous position or if the mummy is amazingly overweight, it isn't plausible to inform the sex of the child. yet for this reason, the sonographer will say "i don't understand" quite than giving you an faulty effect. The previous better halves thoughts about the way you carry your weight etc are all garbage - diverse people placed on weight in a unique way, and that is not any longer some thing to do with the child's sex.

Sonographers never offer a 100% guarantee because it's not an exact science and mistakes can be made. Having said that, most of them are very experienced and know what they're talking about - if she wasn't fairly sure it's a girl, she wouldn't have said - so yes, chances are, you're having a baby girl. And yes, the baby's genitals are formed by 20 weeks. Congratualtions on your daughter!

They can never tell you a 100%, I had one a few weeks back. My sonographer said he was 99.9999999% sure but then again my son was flaunting his little thing around. I have son and 2 daughters already, I found out my 1st and 2nd and 4th babies, My 3rd was a suprise. At 20 weeks either you see it or you don't. Trust me little boys there is no doubt that something is there. If it is a girl the space is kinda empty. Yes everything is developed, they can tell it is a girl by the inside area, obviously because we don't have anything external like men.

Congratulations on your princess!

It's not 100% but the baby IS develolped enough at 20 weeks for the sonographer to be able to see, and if she said she is 100% then I think that you should assume you are having a girl.

The sonographer will look for 3 lines to tell that its a girl (thats what they told me) and they shouldnt say 100% that its boy or girl, as it is never 100% even if they are very sure. I have known someone that was told that she was having a boy and it turned out to be a girl..............!!!!!!!!!!

Having said that they are usualy right. Just be prepared for both boy and girl. Nuetral is always the safer bet. When you have had the baby get your partner to go shopping for the appropriate colour. He and you will enjoy that whan the time comes.

The only way to be 100% sure is after the baby is born. As a matter of fact there have even been cases of the child being incorrectly identified at birth. I don't think I want to explain that.
I have to say though it is fairly effective compared to the old ways which were pretty much just making a guess.

Yes the can be but it is all down to there interpritation of the scan and they can be 100% wrong as well...

At 20 weeks the baby has all its bits and bobs developed down there. At my 20 week scan i was told that it is easier to tell if it is a boy, than if it is a girl.

Good Luck!
