I just had a HSG done 4 days ago. The day when I got the HSG I had soo little spotting as the doctor said I'd have that day. The day after the HSG I started bleeding (not heavy, just normal) almost as if I got my period again. I've had my period for about 2 1/2 days now. I have no pain at all, I am just worried about the bleeding, and I really do not want to go to the hospital. The doctors office has been closed for this three day weekend so I just figured I'd ask for advice. Thank you!

I had an HSG done during a laparoscopy. During the laparoscopy, my OB discovered I had a mild case of endometriosis, which he removed immediately. I did bleed for a few days after. It was worse than when I had my D&C, but I thought it was due to the endometriosis, not the HSG, but I don't know for sure. Even if your doctor's office is closed today, they should still have an answering service. Have the doctor paged so you can make sure there is nothing wrong. One good thing that I can tell you is that I did conceive the month after having this done. I had been ttc for 8 months prior to that. All along I thought it was the endo that caused me not to conceive, but last year I was ttc again and I was sent to a fertility specialist. He told me that and HSG can be very theuraputic, even if your tubes aren't blocked. He had many patients that conceived shortly after having an HSG. Fortunately, I conceived the month I went to see him, so I didn't have to go through it again. Best of luck to you.

Great, sounds like fun. I have to have an HSG done too. I've been avoiding it. From what I remember in the research I've done some bleeding is normal. I am sure you can call the office and they will page the doctor on call. Someone will call you back and talk to you. Or maybe there was some info in the discharge papers you got, just call the hospital where you had the procedure done and speak to a nurse in that department.
