Yes - it is, but you can't see it. It is 'back-lit' by radiation left over by the Big Bang. The entire universe is 'lit'. Kinda like the 'sound' of the explosion. It can still be 'heard' because that's how 'loud' it was. It is the proof that there actually was a Big Bang.

im pretty sure it isnt back light and im 99% positive that its an optical illusion. hope this helps. me=science nerd!

Being infinitely large, there will always be something behind what you're looking at, so in effect - Yes - it is backlit.

i hope not - i hope it goes on forever - but as scientists can't decide if pluto is a planet - i think they long distance forecasts are like weathermen.
