First of all.. who said America believes he failed?
If you're basing that on the media.. don't forget you're only given partial information based on what's normally biased investigation on the side of the more antagonistic opinion (the one that's more newsworthy and usually decadent.. because that's what sells).
As far as my opinion goes.. I believe, based on everything I've seen and heard, that I don't know enough to condemn him. The PRESS is telling me one thing. But what's the real story?
The president.. no matter what, has to maintain and preservere. That job didnt' come with a manual and it's not an easy one. There are pitfalls and landmines at every turn... The phrase "you can please some of the people, some of the time. But you can't please all of the people all of the time" comes to mind.
Do I think some bad choices were made? Sure. But that can be said even for some of the most successful presidential terms in history.
So the message here is.. be careful who you condemn based on the information you're fed by the press.

I agree that he, as well as Congress has failed the American people. Bush has failed to pull the country together to support the war, which was widely supported when it began. Congress has failed by voting to support the war and then bad mouthing the President, the plan and the military from the moment the vote passed.

Bush is bar none the worst president ever! By the way, I'm an American voter and I didn't vote for the man in either 2000 or 2004.

Really only history tells whether a presidency is a success. Years ago the left hated Regan with a passion (Sounds familiar) and now he has been proven one of the most successful presidents in US History. Love and hate affairs by political bases are usually the foundation for your question.

In my life time, it seems the world wants a president, half Jesus Christ, to work miroculs, and half Albert Eienstien. It's not going to happen and pleasing everyone is also impossible. I feel safer now because there hasn't been anothe attack on America. I still have a job, it would be nice to see the children have the medical attention they need and the beurocacy of try to repair the gulf coast, but all in all he's been OK

Only the Lieberals have failed this country. Majority of Americans want Bush to lead and bring peace to Iraq.

Yep. I voted for Gore in 2000 and I was disgusted at the way the Bush camp handled themselves during the recount debacle. However after it was all over and Bush was sworn in I hoped he would prove me wrong about him. I hoped he would step up and be one of the great presidents. Sadly that wasn't the case.
