I am useless at choosing clothes...always knew i was i never had a great eye for what looked good (i thought i did everyone else was like oh dear) and it never bothered me until i met my new boyfriend he's always telling me that i need to get a new wardrobe (well yeah if he wants to pay for it) he's always smart and it makes me feel awful that i can't get it right. I don't particulary like the latest fashions so what the hell am i supposed to do. Get a personal shopper to help me out remember i'm on a budget here

Why not try going on some clothes websites to get some ideas! What goes well together is one of those tunic tops and put with black trousers or with a pair of jeans and a pair of boots. I wore that to work the other day and got some really good comments! If your on a budget then try going into Peacocks if you have that shop in your area they do some lovely stuff in there and do bags for around a fiver! Please see the links below. I find the clothes shop Quiz also do nice clothes- Do nice belts which can jazz up any out fit just get a simple top and add a nice chunky belt to it with nice pair of detailed jeans.

Well if you don't have an eye for fashion than fair enough, you don't need to go around with perfect coordinating outfits all the time. What's important is to wear clothes that fit well to flatter your shape and don't look cheap.

Start with jeans/trousers/skirts as these are the easiest to get wrong- try on loads of them and really stare in the mirror from every angle to determine which make you look best.

Tops are easy. Just get some plain coloured tops, which look well made and are a nice material and not faded looking, you can't really go wrong there. Gap is good for this sort of thing- they have plain stuff, but it looks good quality and you get that "effortless but stylish" effect.

I think the easiest thing to do, and easiest to update when fashions change, is just to stick to that formula- somewhat plain but well made and well fitting clothes- and add the real style in with belts, necklaces, bracelets etc. Go to Accessorize or Claire's, buy whatever you like, and you can just put it with a white top and jeans (matches everything!) or whatever else you might have that matches. Also- SHOES! They can make or break an outfit, and are such an easy way to look fashionable. Stock up on cute ballet flats if you're not sure, they're so cheap and you can get some in every colour.

Also, dresses are excellent for people who have trouble with clothes, because you only have to pick one thing and not worry about matching a whole outfit! A nice patterned dress, teamed with plain shoes that are either black or one of the colours in the dress, is an easy but really cute outfit. And they are very in right now, so you wont have any trouble finding ones you like.

I get a lot of inspiration from looking at catalogs and online shops (I LOVE asos!) because stuff that wouldn't inspire me hanging on a rack can look great on the model, and from there you can see how the outfit was put together and buy all of it!

If you're on a budget try Primark for great dresses and fashion tops, Topshop for plain but nice coloured and well made tops (usually £6 each, and often discounts for buying more than one), and don't scrimp on the jeans too much but you'd be fine with Topshop or Gap, which aren't too expensive anyway. I find DP and New Look have excellent accessories for not very much money! New Look and Primark are amazing for shoes- both so cheap. Primark has ballet flats for £4 at the moment.

Best of luck.

Try going to a consignment store in near an expensive neighbor hood, or if you have a Marshall's or any designer discount store where you live, go there. the trick is to buy classic designer clothes at a deep deep discount, and always stick with the classic look. It never goes out of style, is always in good taste, and all you need to perk it uo if it fits right are sone nice pumps and nylons. Pumps ans nylons set off any classic clothing and make it look like a million dollars.

I'd need an idea of your shape, height and weight and colouring before I could suggest what would look good on you. But I'd start by going through your existing wardrobe and seeing whats worth keeping, that way you can build on what you have instead of starting completely from scratch. Also ask your friends and boyfriend what they think you'd look good in, see if you can try on some of your friends clothes, and get their opinion. Don't just buy new stuff to please a guy though! do it for yourself.

If he is saying that then drag him around all the shops and let him help you choose what to buy. I do that with my hubby as I seem to buy the wrong clothes and he has a good eye for what looks good on me and what doesn't. Maybe he will put his hand in his pocket too!!

Good Luck

Ask a good friend to give you some honest advice ant go shopping with you a day. I would also ask your new boyfriend to go shopping with you and pick out what he likes, and see if theres anything the both of you think would look nice.

get a few good pairs of jeans, many tops and jumpers go well with jeans, for a smarter look go for bootleg black trousers, a pair of high heel ankle boots, and a few tops/blouses, new look are very reasonably priced, gl
