Doctors, here's a little bit of advice for you:

a) Mumbling in to a dictaphone is not helpful.
b) Sighing, coughing and sneezing in to a dictaphone is not helpful.
c) Rustling papers in to a dictaphone is not helpful.
d) If I give you a patient's notes, and then you lose them, there is very little point in asking me "Where are the notes?"
e) Taking notes I'm a OBVIOUSLY WORKING ON off my desk and losing them is very annoying.

Just thought you'd like to know.

hmmmmm, you forgot.. farting, burping, peeing, pooping, or having an affair into a dictaphone is not helpful.

dictating into a hospital system without any identifying information and then expecting one transriptionist to find what you want out of 23 hours of dictation is not helpful.

carrying on a phone conversation while in the middle of a dictation is not helpful and is costing the transcriptionist who gets paid by the line big bucks.

Complaining about what everyone ELSE does wrong into a dictaphone is not helpful.

i could go on and on and on and on.

Hehehe, good advice. My hubby used to do medical transcription and there are quite a few other things doctors need to learn how to do.....
