i have these mother inlaw who always giving us a gift in every occation like christmas gift,halloween gift,birthday gift, wedding anniverssary gift, and many other occation. she give us gift always, nothing else but a mug ! so i have a lot of glass mugs from her since 4 years now and she still keep going giving a gift mugs for us as a gift .
i told my hubby that let her mother know that she dont have to give us a gift,it is not neccessarily. anyway i always give her {mother inlaw} a thanks. but there are times im tired of always recieving a mugs from her and its annoy me...

What you do is, accept the damn mugs, and start putting some away in a box to donate and put the new ones in the cupboard.
She thinks she's giving great gifts, so let her think it. Say Thank you and leave it at that.
I can give you my mother inlaw for a while and you'll be happy to get yours back.

Awww c'mon! Mugs aren't always that bad! It's better than having no relationship at all with her. Yeah, I know, it sounds like she's giving you a bunch of mugs like every week but that's okay, maybe she thinks you need mugs... lol and you don't have to be upset about it, they're just mugs... at least she isn't giving you a bunch of crappy books for every occasion... lol... but that's okay. mugs are fine. Just keep them and donate them, but make sure you always keep a few in your cupboard!! good luck. =] Make her feel good... just give her a great big thanks and be done with it! Many people would probably rather have your mother-in-law... be grateful... =]

Are you serious?!? I would be great full to have a mother-in-law like that. So she gives you mugs, at least she isn't always getting in yalls business and trying to break yall apart, or bringing your husband's ex's around. You should be great full, big time. This is nothing.

Mug in law is what your problem is.....load up about a dozen of them and take them to her....tell her your cupboards are full and you would have felt bad just throwing them away. This should fix her!

I have this problem with alot of the older people I know. They always give me mugs, card, and collectables. I guess it makes them feel good. Just give it to goodwill or a thriftshop.

You should not be complaining about that just take them with a smile. If you try to stop her it will be insulting and then you might get something to complain about. If any thing is to be said you are not the one to do it your husband is
