No I am not waiting for him to come back. He hasn't talked with the children in a yr now. He don't really care about the children. And they don't really care for him. My 10 yr old son told his father that he wants me to find him a better father. My youngest daughter never talked with him on the phone (her choice).

I want to get a divorce but I don't know where he is. He moved from his last address that I knew. I don't have any way of finding him so that I could get a divorce.

I have always paid the bills even when he was around. He don't support us with money at all, never has.

I hope you have not been waiting for him.
Yes it is desertion.

Does he want to be a father to his children, do they still want to know him

You need to give him a chance to be a dad, but as far as you are concerned find someone else, you deserve better

Wow, that is amazing. How you have managed to stay married and not see him or talk to him in 6yrs. Why are you waiting to get a divorce? Are you hoping to get back with the jerk? Is he still paying all the bills while he is getting his grove on with someone else? That could be the only reason why I would think you didnt get a divorce.
Consulting an Attorney is your best bet. Good luck.

Of course. File divorce and let the lawyers figure it all out. Not to mention child support. I bet he'll be calling to talk to you more often then!

yes it is. get a lawyer and get your divorce ASAP ! Don't wait for him at all. Continue forward for yourself and your children. If he left without saying a word why talk with him? he can continue talking with his children but you don't have a relationship with him and he obviously went on with his life so do the same for you. Good luck!

SIX YEARS. WHOA. IS HE SUPPORTING YOU AND THE CHILDREN $$$$?? YOU NEED TO HAVE A CONSULT WITH A LAWYER. HE/SHE WILL BE ABLE TO 'STEER' YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. USUALLY A CONSULT IS FREE. HOW HAVE YOU BEEN ABLE TO LAST THIS LONG??
