Nothing aganist mt climbing in the snow, but middle of february is basically asking for problems? who pays for all this efforts.

Yes, i do think they should be arrested. Thrown into the lock-up.

Not at all. Should people who drive in winter conditions get ticked for driving because it's dangerous? They could take the bus, but they drive, even though they are fully aware of the risks. It's a free country, and the mountains are public property.

I agree with your line of questions, problem is where do you draw the line? if you were driving on the highway in a snowstorm that got worse and worse, but didn't exercise the common sense to stop, then crashed your car because of it, should you be left to rot because you failed to use common sense. How would that be any different than your scenario??? I don't now who pays for the search.

I wonder if there are signs stating that if stranded or lost the cost of aiding you in your return dead or alive will be billed to the climber's or the family?
