Wow, I just wish everyone would think like you do, the world would be a better place. However, being a criminal or a killer is not genetic, so people are not born with it. Its an environmental consequence. If you look at it from the psychological side, the person's superego stops working and their Id works to much. This means that they dont have that conscience that tells them NO! DONT DO THAT!
Human beings are a good creation one of good nature, people aren't meant to be bad, but something in their life happens to lead them to act foolishly. Good question though

I don't blame the religion. I blame people. If you think about it, people are going to behave the same, in general, whether it be religion or politics or getting ahead at work. The difference is, most religions do teach love, joy, peace, kindess, etc. It is not the fault of the religion if man takes matters into his own hands and does things "in the name" of his religion that actually shame the religion. For example, people who killed and conquered in the name of Christianity were not practicing true Christianity. They were using religion as an excuse to fulfill their selfish ambitions. If they were true Christians, they would have went as peaceful missionaries who helped the people they came across, not killed them. All this to say, it is not religion that divides. It is man's nature.

It is jealous, lust, anger, revenge, unethical egos and above all domination factor over others makes a man kill a human.
They are also not happy after the kill. They pay heavily for that in return by suffering all sorts of agonies thereafter.

No one can be benefitted out of this madness and you rightly said 'madness'.
Those who kill others for some reason or other are sick people; sickness would have been caused by defect genes of their parents or great grand parents or acquired by the influence of the environment in which they are placed by 'karma' theory if you believe.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna confronts Krishna with this very question. Krishna's response is that one is deluded if they believe that they kill or are killed. As a warrior (or, for that matter, as a murderer) one merely preforms their duty. Since the soul does not die, rather is reincarnated, the warrior is merely an agent in the cycle.

Due to ignorance people have a cold war in the society. Only due to selffishness people rule over one another. Once they realise that the things which they are doing is wrong the war will come to end. Till then it will continue.

Killing has no benefits. But people, animals creatures all living things kill and live.
From the stone age to till date man has killed for nothing.
Jealousy, hatred, ill feelings, fear lead the people to kill others.

It's not about human nature, it's about ego. Humans are the only animal that murder. Other animals kill, but don't murder.
