Let's say they had a 40 year run at the presidency and both houses of congress. What would our country look like at the end of those 40 years?

The US would be run by large corporations. There would be disastrous levels of pollution. Only the rich would have healthcare. The world would be one big US military base and the middle east would be toast. A f*ckin' mess.

Its not possible. There is a backlash for all trends. Think about the generations over the last 50 years. The raging 20's turned to the Prohibition of the 30's the 1950's were defined but a Conservative back lash for the new deal in the 40's. The 60's was love and hippie which changed to the rocking 70's. The 80's marked the war on drugs and glamor rock. The 90 revolted with grunge rock and crack addiction. Now its Rap and peoples rights. There is aways change because people thinks change will make all the difference.

I think it would look just as bad as it would if the far-left ran the country for 40 years. Extremism in ANY form is bad.

Truthfully, though, I don't think too much would change. Have there been any new restrictions put on abortion in the last six years? Not really. I don't even think the initiative to illegalize partial-birth abortion went through.
Most politicians are so busy promoting their own careers that NOTHING gets done. It would shock me if anything changed.

They'd start a nuclear war long before things got to the 40 year mark.

How could a theocratic police state be controlled by coorperations? Do you not understand there are three opposing forces wrapped up in that sentance?

Oh I get it now.. you got your idea from watching a movie...

The U.S. would probably dominate the world militarily and economically. By example the rest of the world would be living a heck of a lot better off as well. Resources are scarce but standards of living are always on the rise in economically conservative countries.

Empty. By the end of the second decade, we would all have emigrated to a free country.

A theocratic police state controlled by corporations much like the movie V for Vendetta. A place where anyone not white, Christian and heterosexual would be 'disappeared' and executed or used for research.
