I have been with a credit union for a long time, but it is no longer convenient, I am looking for a good bank with good customer service, free checking and savings, convenient locations and ATMs, I believe I have narrow it down to either Washington Mutual or Bank of America, any suggestions? I don't care about the issue with Bank of America issuing credit to undocumented customers.

I use both banks. I prefer Bank of America. Their online banking is really good (I like the BillPay feature). The checking account is free as long as you have one direct deposit a month. It's an international bank, so if you go to Spain, for example, you can find a BOA.

Customer service is as expected from a big bank (not as user-friendly as small home-town banks), but they're very professional. ATM's are easy to find.

Hope that helps!

Bank of America has the absolute worst customer service. I have been a customer for about 4 years. And since 2004, ANYTIME you call them for ANY reason, you will be on hold for at least 15 minutes. Its absolutely unacceptable in my eyes.

economic enterprise of usa, quotes a $25 overdraft fee for first time overdrafts. the only reason it is going as much as $35 is by way of diverse over-drafting of your account. What it quite comes right down to is monitoring your account and being proactive while it comprises service provider quotes.
