My son wants to buy a car that has a body kit. The installation looks cheap. The ground effects are held on with small pieces of strap metal along the rocker cell in the door opening. Is this a typical installation for an after market body kit?

Hmmm...Im trying to picture what youre describing...
but the proper way of installing a body kit is pretty much utilizing the stock fastener holes and if needed...adding a few braces for support and adding rigidity.

If the kit youre speaking of is only held on by strips...it doesnt seem like a good job. You still need to have it bolted or else it will "fly" right off.

sounds kind of cheesy to me , if that is an indicator of the quality of work done then i have to wonder about the maintenance done on this " boy racer " run away from this one .
