In reality, according to the Eagles themselves, they are speaking of the seductive nature of the L.A. music biz. Much debated topic, some people think it was hell that they were referring to, I've even heard some say they were referring to drugs. The way I look at it, interpret it the way you want, cause it is a kick a** song.
