Complete vocal rest for as many days as you have before the read through. Write everything down. Laryngitis is viral so you have to let it run it's course. You should go to the store and buy a tea called Throat Coat......it has a combination of slippery elm and licorice (both very soothing to inflamed vocal chords), do not do the standard tea and lemon routine as it is acidic and drying, if you don't have a humidifier and have radiators you could put wet towels over them, slippery elm lozenges (no menthol lozenges they are very drying) and lots and lots of water. If you are still hoarse for the read through you should explain that you have laryngitis, you can actually permanently damage your voice if you aren't careful. Also, see your doctor to make sure you don't have anything more serious. See an ENT if it doesn't clear up but I would steer clear of steriod treatments, they only mask the problem. Good luck to you.

Well, there are two levels I can help you with. Usually, on a spiritual level, sore throats represent things that you aren't saying, so I would ask you, (if you came to see me as a metaphysician), what is it that you aren't saying, or what do you need to say to someone that pains you?

The physical level of the sore throat can be dealt with by taking a tablespoon of lemon juice and follow it with a teaspoon of honey. You may have strep throat, which is indicative of a deeper issue, and this can be dealt with on a physical level by taking 2 capsules of garlic and 2 capsules of Goldenseal to start, then one of each 4 times a day; breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime for 5 days and this should clear it up. Garlic has a natural antibiotic in it called Allicin and the Goldenseal will help to boost the immune system and the effects of the garlic.

Hope all is well with you soon. Take care of yourself and express your feelings in a kind way, no matter how angry you are and you'll find that your sore throats will be a thing of the past!

Deep throat gargle at least 4 times a day with hot salt water. Take thick salt , not the table (powdered salt), dilute as much as possible in hot water, strain through a fine cloth (clean handkerchief). The salt water should be as hot as you can take. Try to gargle as deep down the throat as you can. You could also add a little turmeric powder to the salt water if you like.

you can gargle with warm salt water. This helps to relieve the inflammation. Also not talking accompanied with hot baths were you literally sweat will also help. You can also do what i am sure akmost everyone would suggest, which is to drink hot lemon and honey tea. Plenty of rest. hope this helps. Get better soon.
