i think there expensive and pointless, just work out roughly the days you will ovulate and then go at it like rabbits, we did it at least twice a day for a week over when my gf was ovulating it worked in second month of trying!
good luck

Hi there! I have my cycle every 28 days. I ovulate on the 12 or 13 day. Be sure to count from the day your period starts, that day would be day one. Test on day 11 or 12. Be sure to have sex 24 after the test shows positive. The test show the hormone that women have in their body right before ovulation. Those tests really do work, it just takes some time getting to understand them. Also, you can buy those ovulation tests on eBay for a fraction of the cost it does in the local store. Just a heads up! Good luck! **Check out the book "The Everything Getting Pregnant Book" it is great! Don't have sex too often, every 48 hours is recommended. The sperm count is low if you have sex too often.**

Ovulation kits show a positive about 12 - 24 hours before you ovulate. ...it's based off a hormonal peak.
If 14 days would have been yesterday it's very likely you peaked and ovulated already. If you don't end up pregnant this time around, start using your ovulation kit around day 11 of your cycle and when you get a positive have sex for 3 days in a row.

It's nobody's business to tell you that you're too young or not ready... If you're married and want to have a family, then sobeit. I believe ovulation kits are sold right on the shelf. There shouldn't be an age limit to purchasing them. If you cannot however, look into natural ovulation charting. You can track your ovulation by taking basal body temperature and analyzing the natural discharge when you urinate. There's a lot of information on the internet. Just google "natural birth control" or "fertility monitoring."

Most women don't ovulate so perfectly on day 14 of a 28 day cycle. It varies greatly from woman to woman. It is very possible that you are ovulating on day 12 or day 16, etc. What I did when I was trying to figure out my ovulation date was to buy 6 or 7 LH sticks and just keep taking them each morning until I got a positive. Expensive, yes, but I really wanted to know my window!

Ovulation happens anywhere from about ten to sixteen days before menstruation. The instructions for most OPKs say to use your shortest cycle in the last six months, and have a chart which tells you how many days after your period to begin testing. The box in my bathroom, for example, says that based on my shortest cycle (29 days) I should start testing on day 12 of my cycle (which would be 12 days after my period started.) I know, from charting and using OPKs that I ovulate about ten days before my period though, so I usually see my surge around day 17 of my cycle.
Use your shortest cycle, and follow the instructions that come with your OPKs for when to start testing.
