I have an idea for a web site but am unsure of how I can protect my idea and get advise about starting it up as a going concern. Where do I start, and how best to avoid getting my idea stolen?...

The only option you have is to keep it as secret as possible.

There are many companies that will make a website for you. If you want to protect yourself, make them sign a non-disclosure agreement.
