Rice University - stop by after visiting medical center, zoo, museum district. Very nice campus, makes you think you're in California.
Katy Mills Mall - huge outlet/regular mall
Spec's Liquor Store - downtown, one of the largest liquor/imported foods collections around. Also, order a hamburger from the deli - awesome.
Toyota Center (downtown) - see if the Rockets are in town, not a bad seat in the house.
Minute Maid Park (downtown) - offers tours
Rodeo Houston (Feb 28-Mar 12) - see rodeo and live musical performance.

NASA, the Galleria, Kemah boardwalk, the old part of Galveston, Moody Gardens, Downtown Aquarium, Houston Museum District, Hermann Park, Houston Zoo, Memorial Park, grab a concert at one of our many venues, catch a game at MinuteMaid, Toyota Center or Reliant, head up to The Woodlands if you want to feel like you're a Stepford Wife (that's where I live--it's a sight to see)
have fun!

The Beer Can House on Fagan St.,the Art Car Museum on Heights Blvd, the Orange Show on Munger St and lots of strange art downtown and scattered around the whole city.If you're visiting here from a smaller city, you'll really want to avoid rush hour and I-10 West and the Galleria area, the traffic in those places can be terrible.

i could advise the Houston Galleria. it quite is the main important mall in Texas and it has each and every of the shops you are able to think of of, severe end fashion designer shops, besides as an ice rink interior.
