I recently purchased an eyeshadow by Covergirl in a color called, "Champagne". It looked ok in the package, but it's too bright when I put it on. I know I would like the color if it was more muted and less shiny. Is there anyway to tone it down?

Thank you all in advance!

Always blend after you put on eyeshadow and don't use the little sponge applicators it comes with. You can get a nice brush kit at Walmart that works great. It works better and it comes with a slanted brush that you can put eyeshadow on the bottom of your eye in the corners for a better effect. Hope this helps.

You could try mixing the champagne with another, slightly darker colour or you could put a thin layer of face powder over it... Experiment until you find the right solution or just bin it an buy another colour (but use a tester first...)

i always have that problem with the extremely glitzy colors. i've found that if you se a bigger brush it will brush on a thinner layer. try using brushes from Sonia Kashuk, they make like a million sizes and they are really soft. also, you should start near the tear duct and go lightly as you get to the end of the eyelashes. hope this advice helps you!

Use the color you want and then put white or cream over it... it will calm down the color and still look great!

You can use your finger tips to apply your eyeshadow. Just dab your finger in it then lightly apply it on your eyelid. It should work.
