1) How does young Vito Andolini get a new name once he gets to Ellis Island in the United Sates? Why is he given this name and how does it help him?
2) Who is Don Fanucci? How does Vito Corleone eliminate the threat Don Fanucci poses to the Italian immigrants in Little Italy? How does this affect his own status?
3) How do you think Michael Corleone and others like him would explain being ruthless in business and yet very much followers of Roman Catholic Church?
4) If you ask him, what are some reasons Fredo Corleone might have for turning on the Corleone Family? (Who has an even better reason for betrayal but does not do it?)

1. Many immigrants that came to the U.S. got there name changed to make it easier for americans.
2. I think that Don Fanucci was the head of the man gang or mob in the city that vito corleone lived in. Vito kills him at the end and and sets the town free. He was viewed as more powerful after he killed him, he also got revenge for killing his family(or brother).
3. I think this is reffering to the third movie. However a very difficult to explain. I believe that both michael and vito were very ethical in doing a dirty job.
4. Micheal because is brother was killed

1.The scene shows when Vito Andolini comes into Ellis Island the man reads his tag as Vito Corleone instead of Vito Andolini from Corleone thus changing his name and probably protecting him from the don who still wanted him dead.
2.Don Fanucci was the don of the neighborhood where Vito Corleone grew up.After killing the don he becomes the Don.
3.I cant explain #3.I do know that the catholic women believe that their men are saved thru their prayers thus they go to church everyday to light a candle for their souls.I read alot of mafia books.
4.Fredo felt like he was stepped over by the family.Michael was the younger brother.Therefore by Fredo should of been next in line for Godfather.And yes fredo did betray Michael watch Part 2 again when at first Fredo says he didnt know Johnny Alma and then later he says Johnny used to bring him to that place all the time.Michael overhears it.At New Years Michael kisses fredo and tells him I know it was you Fredo and you broke my heart.And Michael waits until their mothers dies to kill him.
