It is possible! We travel trough time at a rate of 1h/h. You can also call it aging.
But maybe it will be possible in the future to travel at a faster or slower speed.
In fact, they did experiments with atomic clocks traveling in planes at high speed. There is a measurable time difference in accordance to Einstein's laws which could be interpreted as petty time travel.
As for the real time travellers, why don't they come back and tell us? Because they happen to return to a (parallel-)universe where they have returned already. We by chance live in on of the universes where they did not return to.

Many therories Exist.

One is that if you can open a wormhole by shooting an atom at it you could travel through time and space. You see wormholes are loopholes in the Space/Time Continuim. Therefore if you go through one, you should end up in another Time and Place. It is extremely dangerous however, because wormholes even though you have opened one end up large, are less than the size of an atom. Also, you cannot be sure where and when it comes out, so you may end up sitting in the middle of a supernova explosion.

Another theory, stated by some other wonderful yahoo answerers, is that if you travel past the spped of light (currently unheard of), you could, possibly, travel forward in time.

Overall, it is Possible, but not probable, will humans ever get that far? Who knows, but it is, for sure, very unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Oh yes, one more note!

If the people of the future could travel back in time wouldn't they be popping in on us???

It is definetly a big Mystery.

Not only is time traveling into the future possible, but it is mandatory. Everything is always traveling into the future. Furthermore, no 2 things travel into the future at the exact same rate. Time travel into the past is not possible, because space and time are inseparable as space-time, and travel back in time would require an analogous reversal in space, which is not possible.

Time travel is kind of possible now depending on how you look at it. For example, if you travel at the speed of light, time for you will slow down. You travel at that speed for a year, you will not arrive back at earth at the time you thought it would be. It would actually be later or in the future. Of course, this will only work for "going in the future".

Edit: Below is a link based off of Albert Einstein's theory. It also has a shockwave plugin that determines the age of someone traveling to a star (picked by you) and back and the age of one who stays on earth for that person's entire trip.

Keep in mind though, my answer is based on Einstein's theory and the test with the atomic clock experiement mentioned also in the link below. Einstein seemed to know what he was talking about, so I put trust in his theory ;)

According to Albert Eisten's theory time travelling is possible when a object is made to run at a speed more than light i.e (3,00,000KM/sec!) but nobody has not even come close to this speed. But due to the fast advancement of technology to may be possible in the future.

There is a problem with "time travel". The major problem is that we, ourselves, are composed of physical time. In the physics trilogy E = mc2, m = E/c2, and c2 = E/m, notice that the one value that does not change is that of the "c2" one. This is the speed at which present time folds into becoming the past. All creation moves at this speed, including ourselves. Notice that in the value of "c2" there is no manner of change to it. It is this value that would have to be changed in order for such a thing as "time travel" to exist.

Unfortunately, no matter how you slice it, time travel will never be possible. The closest we can ever get is criogenics.(sp) where they freeze people.

Think about the repurcussions of time travel, especially to the past.

I think it's a good thing that we can't go back because the world would never move forward with all the people trying to go back and correct their mistakes.

yes it may be possible in near future, only if we can travel with a speed much much greater than speed of light and designing a vehicle with time function.

Yes it will....what do you think UFOs are? It has already been proven that travel at high speed can alter your place in time. We just can't attain the necessary speed yet to do it.

They haven't come back to tell us because that would change the future.

Absolutely NOT
otherwise someone would have already come back here from there !! And, in more probability would have showed up some time back to "tweak" a couple of things here and there !!
