just like heaven: i enjoy chic flics, this was class but could be watched by fellas too. was funny and had twists in story, what happened wasn't what i expected to happen.

I didn't want to tell you about really commercial films that everyone has seen, so these are two less well known films that I came accross by accident and have bought for myself since.
Instinct starring Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding Jnr. It's a really moving account of Hopkin's character's life in Rwanda where he lived with Gorillas. Gooding Jnr plays a psychiatrist. It was similar in places to Gorillas in the mist, and had me sobbing at the end.
What dreams may come starring Robin Williams. This film is all about coping with the death of a loved one, and how life goes on in heaven. Quite unusual, but stunning scenery and a bit weepy in places.

In The Mouth of Madness- Its a very creepy movie. Ive seen it 100 times and it still scares me.

Dear Frankie -- a foreign film (Irish) about a young boy who writes to his father, but it is his mother that responds as his father left. She comes up with a way to keep his dream of seeing his father... very endearing.
Life is Beautiful -- another foreign film (Italian) about a Jewish man who falls in love with a woman while the Nazis begin to take over Europe. Shows determination of the human spirit.
Whale Rider -- an independent film about a tribe that believes a man must take over as a leader, but the daughter of the current leader believes she can rule.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -- stars Jim Carey and Kate Winslet -- about the idea that you can remove pieces of your memory that are painful to remember, but at what cost?
The Jacket -- stars Adrien Brody -- A veteran of war is accused of a brutal killing, and proves his innocence with a controversial treatment that takes him back in time.

"Once Upon A Time In America" (1984) - it is a very haunting and nostalgic film, set mainly during the Prohibition period.
Stars Robert De Niro and James Woods; it was the last film directed by Sergio Leone.

Rocky Balboa, wonderful movie, great story line, very effective, loved they way it made me think about life.
A night at the museum, loved that movie too, great family movie, and the children actually learn about History.
