I think there should be a limit on how long a recipient can get benefits and in no case if they have more than two children. I also think it should be a requirement for women that apply for assistance to have to be on birth control and actively seeking employment. There are a lot of women that have babies for the sole purpose of free money and some of these women aren't using the money to take care of the children for whom the benefits were intended. It makes mee sick to see welfare moms wearing nice clothes and their children in rags.

Ummmm NO. That mean you are having baby starve. I say, once on welfare, IUD!!!! If you have more than 3 kids....tubiligation.
Can men get on welfare?
And no more than 5 years, you MUST participate in job training and welfare for up to 6months after receiving fulltime employment to help you get off your feet.
I think welfare should provide daycare more than foodstamps. Most single women, thier biggest obstacle is daycare. I'm surprised at the rates in the states. In The BAhamas the average cost is $50 a week, that includes a hot lunch and it runs from 7:30 am to 7 pm.
It cannot be free money with no expectations. Welfare is a priviledge not a RIGHT!!!!!

I do not think taking away benefits will work, after all you do not want a child to suffer. I don't understand why someone who cannot afford to support one child without welfare would even want to have another child, I think they should force some kind of birth control on the mothers, like an implant or the b.c. shot they take every three months. We as taxpayers should not have to keep paying for their mistakes, and they as welfare recipients should be too embarrassed to keep having kids.Unfortunately some people do not see welfare as a temporary helping hand until they can get on their feet ,but rather see it as a lifestyle they are entitled to. It is these people that sadly pass these moral down to their kids, thus perpetuating a whole new generation of welfare recipients.

You can move out if you're 18-19 and rent a room if you have enough money to support yourself. The government are trying to save money, plus they think that if they stop the benefits people will be encouraged to go to work instead of living the life of luxury they have on £71 jobseekers a week. The real effect is that those under 35 on benefits and renting are probably going to have to move back into their parents, or move in with friends, or be homeless.

Lady, you don't know the personal situation each person is in. I've worked with women who worked hard, but because of their bum exes, they STILL had to have some form of welfare (food stamps, a check, rental assistance) just to get by. Are you really that concerned over someone getting pregnant and receiving a couple hundred dollars a month for food? Maybe it's time you minded your own damn business, because I'll gladly let a hard-working mom use my tax dollars for help than let someone like you nag & hound people over welfare when you probably give quite a bit of your own paycheck to clothes designers who don't need the money, music artists that are untalented & already rich, & bigwig oil company CEO's who are using your gas money as personal toilet paper and laughing about it. GET A LIFE, and learn about the real issues. If poverty was eradicated, or we had a share the wealth system, you wouldn't be asking these stupid, neoconservative questions.

That depends on more than an outward guess about people's life. If the people are married but happen to be poor and uneducated, then that's one thing. But when it happens just because someone is trying to increase their welfare benefits then Yes, it should be taken away. You have to be careful when you speak about fathers though because many of them are victims of these trap-setting women.

Most people on welfare are single parents. We need to fix this epidemic of no fault divorce and sex outside of marriage etc. Yes, benefits should be stripped for those that worsen their current situation. Welfare needs more reform.
Now, if a family that is married and struggling with kids, then lets help them out. If the single parent is a widow and no fault of their own, lets help them out. Compassion!
If a parent cannot afford to keep their kids, we should look at taking them and placing those kids in a better home. Single parents should be taxed and fined as a burden to society.

So starving their kid sounds like a solution to you? Your idea of a solution would ultimately result in more costly problems like increased crime. In most states recipients of welfare must undergo job training. Once they are done, the state helps place them in gainful employment. What do you suggest we do with people who become disabled and dependent on social security? Line them up against a barn and shoot them?

well some people really do deserve it in my opinion, when others are lazy bums that depend on it to live because they can. People should get background checks and time limits depending on individual situations.
