x=9 y=8 9+3(8-1)=11
I don't understand the second one. Not to be mean or anything, you should have listened to your math teacher when he/she was explaining the lesson.

Excuse me but I thought the whole point of homework etc was for YOU to use your brain ! Your NEVER gonna learn anything if everyone else does the hard work for you. I don't mind helping but I REFUSE to actually to the working out for my own child never mind YOU !

These are not simultaneous equations and do not have a unique solution.
Both come down to x + 3y = 14
Positive integer solutions are : (x,y); (2.4); (5,3); (8,2); (11,1)
