Need some advice... me and my girl of 8 years have had a great relationship up until about 3 weeks ago when I was suspecting she was cheating on me, when she needed some help from a guy to get on the police department. She said all it was, was him helping her and nothing else. Yet, she was hiding text messages, calls, and emails.

Well everything went back to normal and I am fine. But I brought it up tonight, I told her just to tell me. I guess we took a "break" about 2 weeks ago and thats when I was suspecting maybe she messed around with him. She swore up and down she didn't.

Tonight, I said jokingly, "if we broke up, after 9 years, and the next day I had sex with another woman, would you be mad?" She said, "no, I would have no right to be, we weren't together." Keep in mind the few day break we took about 2 weeks ago.

Anyway, I know it comes down to trust, but she's done this before.

What do you all think??

I think she cheated on you. Why would she hide stuff if it was innocent? Let me tell you another thing, break or no break mst women would be angry if you slept with another woman while the two of you were on a break. Sounds to me like she did something wrong. Sorry, just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Here's what I think; there is nothing in any of my e-mail/text messages that I would feel the need to hide from my husband. That should be a red flag. However, you have been willing to be in a relationship with her for the last eight years without making any kind of commitment to her. She can do whatever she wants. If you wanted an exclusive, committed relationship, you should have married her years ago.

You are a glutton for punishment if she's done this before. Sounds like you need to teach her a lesson and get rid of her. Once a cheat, always a cheat-quit walking around with blinders on!!!

Like a police officer, you should ALWAYS go with your gut instinct!!

One way to do it is ask her to take a polygraph test because you want to know if she has cheated at all while you were together and while you were seperated those few days

OK, my opinion is that she probably did hook up with him. But you can't base it on your hypothetical "if we broke up and I slept with someone else" question. She may just as likely have been wondering if there was something you wanted to tell HER, and she was paving the way with "I wouldn't be mad."

ufffff thats a hard one...

i think she could be lying... if you dated for 9 YEARS... that should mean something and she SHOULD be too hurt to go whoring herself around after being commited for so long...

but she might really be telling the truth...

ask her again and read into her... or better yet... steal her cell phone and call the guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

since she aint saying anything, find out who's the other guy and chat with him. chances are she cheated on you.
i guess she got too used to being with you to find that her life isnt as interesting and exciting as she wanted it to be.

If you say she was hiding things from you, then yes she cheated on you. She's lying to your face. Go ask the guy that "helped" her and ask him to please be honest.
