How did you sleep? Was it any different than normal? Details, dreams, anything will help. Thanks.

Did you notice anything odd before you went into labor, anything out of the ordinary that you wouldnt find in a book, but you knew someone else somewhere also had to be experiencing too?
EXAMPLE: I notice I get increased braxton hicks when I eat ice, I dont know why.

Also, do your labor contractions start our feeling so strong they take you breath away a little? Mine are pushing up so hard it hurts my ribs a bit, could they be the real thing?

I slept like a baby up until the day I went into labour. The only thing that I noticed right before I went into labour (other than my water breaking and losing my mucous plug) was I was having to go to the bathroom quite frequently with loose stools. I didn't have any braxton hicks during my pregnancy, so I knew that they were the real deal when I started to get frequent painful contractions every 8 - 10 minutes or so. My contractions just started out of the blue, and they started off feeling like really bad menstrual cramps, but they slowly became stronger and more frequent. After a while, I could not walk or talk during my contractions.

Good luck!

I slept awful. Not good at all, very uncomfortable. Get as much sleep as you possibly can now because once that baby comes you will not sleep. I got really bad pains and contractions were very painful. You will know when it's the real thing. The contractions get worse by the hour. Your not in labor and that pain is being caused in your ribs by your baby kicking. She is running out of room and likes to stretch. Hang in there. Good luck

HOw many months are you? REal contractions take your breath away. I would certainly go to the Dr. and be examined. They can hook you up to the monitors and see the contractions and if it is causing any stress on the baby. I was having contractions from 7months on with my daughter and had to be monitored all the time. The day before I had her, the Dr. told me to come in the hospital the next day to have her because it was long enough....I was 2 weeks late...that entire night I never slept because I was in full blown labor and had contractions every 5 mins and hurting so bad. I waited until 5am to wake up my husband and told him it was time to go...and he looked at the clock and said no it is not and laid back down. I yelled IT IS Time!...and then he finally got what the heck I was talking about.....man that ride to the hospital must have been the worse ever.....
Get yourself checked and Good luck!!!

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

With my last daughter, my water (slowly started) breaking at 1:00 a.m. I called the nurse on call and said I was really sleepy and wanted to go back to sleep. She said as long as I wasn't leaking anything else but fluid, I could go back to sleep. I did. I didn't wake up until 8:00 a.m. that morning and slept like a baby! Labor officially started at 9:00 a.m. and my daughter was delivered at 9:45 a.m. It was a piece of cake and I was well rested!

When I had both of my girls, my water broke at around midnight both times. No time for dreams or anything else. Needless to say, there wasn't much sleep those two nights. When my son was born, I had a dream that I was climbing a huge wall and all these people from my past were cheering me on. It felt really good. My son is the middle child so I took it as a sign that I could handle more than one child. Good luck to you!

I've had 6 children, and it was different with each one. With the first, I was very restless, and had weird dreams. I was was woken by a weird popping sound, and stood up. Water gushed out on the floor- my water had broken. With one of my kids I woke up soaked in sweat- very unusual for me. With most of them though, I felt pretty normal, and just woke up having contractions. By the way, my labor started at about the same time with all of them- around 1 a.m.
I don't remember real labor hurting in my ribs. It was always down low, like really bad menstrual cramps. With my second it hurt in my back. (He was born face up)
