Limiting it to events that have occurred during my lifetime, the three in order of the importance & the impact I felt are:
1. The assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. It was just stunning & unthinkable & kept most Americans, including my parents & me, riveted to the TV for days.
2. The 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center & the Pentagon. Again, stunning & unthinkable. Though with hindsight, it now seems that Americans should have been aware that this could happen, considering the escalating attacks over the previous 2 decades on America's & other Western countries' interests around the world.
3. Neil Armstrong stepping onto the Moon on July 20, 1969. I was and continue to be a big supporter of space exploration. It was fantastic for me that within a decade of the "launching" (pun intended!) of the space program, we had landed on the Moon. Science fiction had become science fact.

Certainly there are few historical events that happen that everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing when hearing about it.
9/11 has to be at the top of the list. I don't think there is one person in the US over age 10 that can't tell us where they were when they heard or saw what was happening.
For me one other sticks out. The start of the Gulf War. I was about 12. Growing up at the end of the Cold War and thinking the world was safe after the collapse of the Berlin Wall came to an abrupt end when the bombs started falling on Baghdad. And I can tell you exactly where I was, who I talked to, and what I was doing at that moment.

I would have to say the most memorable historic event for me would be the 2000 election. It marked the pivotal moment in History that changed american politics from mere entertainment into pure slapstick comedy and truly showed how close minded and self involved we were. I think we have learned alot from this moment, no matter what or whos side you are on, and I am proud of this country for evolving over the last few years enabling people of different views to state them and engage in intelectual discussions.

there are a few times when you mention an event, people will remember just exactly where they were and what they were doing. For me, that includes:
9/11 - it came on the news at 11pm in Australia and I watched it till after 5 am the next morning. I thought, "I am watching the start of WW III"
Armstrong walking on the Moon - I was a school kid with heaps of other kids looking at the TV.
Kennedy Assasination - That was the first time I saw my dad cry. (He was Australian, but JFK ment a lot to him)
Bali Bombing - not long after 9/11, but in a tourist night club with heaps of Australians for targets. To remember them, my family brought a favourite personal item (clothing or toys for the kids) and burnt them. Others had lost more than we had with those small favourite items.

A hung parliament is the place no party can benefit the final public of seats interior the decrease domicile of Parliament, generally happening as domicile of Representatives interior the federal Parliament. This grow to be mentioned recently interior the Tasmania state elections and likewise in South Australia in 2002 while the ALP fell one seat short to make up a central authority interior the Legislative suggestions. the end bring about Tasmania grow to be that the ALP conceded that they won't make up a central authority, and the Liberal party grow to be sworn in as a minority government. In South Australia, after plenty negotiation 2 self sufficient MPs - Peter Lewis and Bob Such - desperate to area with the ALP, which meant that they now had the better style of seats. even though, this additionally meant that Such and Lewis had the "stability of means" - each and each piece of legislations presented via the ALP grow to be difficulty to approval via the two independents, which placed them in a robust place to barter a greater powerful consequence for their voters. interior the case of the 2010 federal election, there are a number of opportunities. the main possibly consequence is that the vegetables will area with the ALP, leaving the 4 different self sufficient MPs to barter with the two the ALP and Liberal events to come back to a determination who would make the greater suitable government (or which party would have a greater powerful deal for the voters they characterize). in the event that they fail to accomplish that, it relatively is then as much as the Governor-generic to call yet another election.

I guess it would have to be 9/11. We were packing to move. The next day, when the buyer of our house came, we were supposed to be out, but were still packing because we had spent an entire day starring at the t.v. It was just hard to do normal things with such a tragedy going on.

JFK assassination, because I was a little kid and seeing the whole world mourning was confusing to me.
The Challenger Space shuttle explosion, because I was actually there watching it.
John Lennon getting shot, because I loved him and couldn't believe someone would do that.
9/11, because it was just so huge.
