Is it because campaigning to them is about misleading the voters?

How many abortions has Bush stopped? They tell the great moral people what they want to hear. They wrap up in the flag and speak of God, motherhood, apple pie and the sanctity of American life. Stressing their morality and their rightousness, they fool these people into believing that a vote for the Republican party is a vote for Christianity and that it will make God smile down on them. Anyone that would believe a Republican promise at this point is either delusional or in denial. They probably also believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny. Personally, the Tooth Fairy would be a better candidate in my view.

Its because they know how to win an election. They get the populous all riled up about some non-issue that manages to get the republican voters out in droves. They are well-organized and run smart campaigns. The democrats, conversely, are not well-organized and it seems to me that democrats are democrats for one or two issues, while republicans are republicans because they believe in the party platform and want most of, if not all the policies put in place. Even after this last election where the democrats took back control of the house, it was the republicans failure more-so than the democrats competency. Thanks and have a nice day.

I assume you mean Republicans. If so, campaign rhetoric is just that and both parties, as well as the Liberal and Independent parties, are guilty of the same. The Republicans, however, have an easier time of getting their agenda thorough the houses of Congress because they are more attuned to each other. The Democrats are fractured and, as you are seeing now, don't present a unified agenda. The "non binding" resolution on Iraq has failed, Hilary Clinton's Health Initiative failed and the only thing that will get done is increased taxes on the "rich" (those subjected to the alternative minimum tax; over $75,000 a year). So the answer is that all parties say what they want and accomplish little. The only thing I like about the NY Times is that they do an analysis of campaign ads that is straight on and an honest review of their truthfulness.

The reason for that is simple. When u r out of office or without the actual responsibility of making decisions u can make all sorts of claims however once u r in the position of responsibility u realise that it is not that easy. and by the way it is the same for both democrats and republicans or for that matter even in normal day to day life. if u don't believe then tell ur boss to meet the unrealistic targets he sets for his staff.

As much as I have came to despise Republicans, that's something that the Democrats do too,Politicians are pretty much a pack of liars, regardless of their political affiliation.

Oh I am sure you meant to say left wing Democrats, because they are either too dumb to know what they are saying or they just say what ever they think will get them elected. Most liberal Democrats don't care about this country at all, they only care about getting into office and furthering their own agendas and making a buck or two, while flushing our countries values down the toilet.

Thats totally unfair. All political canidates pull that stunt. You cant point fingers at the Republicans because you dont like them, the people you voted for did it too, and will continue to do it in the future because they are politicians and yes they do it to get a vote.

i wouldn't assign that trait to just the republicans - it's all politicians. they tell you what you want to hear, and when they get in office it's the lobbyists that they really represent.
