OK, I'm not going to lie, I don't date much. I have a hard time getting over the fact that anyone would even want to be with me (I know I sure wouldn't). But it seems like when I do, I always end up picking the sleaziest liars and jackholes the greater Toledo area has to offer. What's wrong with me (besides the obvious)?

Well, you will just need to be more discriminating with the guys you go out with. try to know them better, and I hope the first time you meet them, it's not about sex. Usually, these guys are the first ones to disappear (unless they need another helping). I think people who share your interests will make your day better. And, it may lead to something else.

I agree with truckinotter... try to meet people through friends and good acquaintances that you already know. Ask all of them about their social circles and groups/clubs. Maybe join some. Try and go to parties of gay OR straight friends. Just grow your social circle organically.. you'll meet people that are more accountable. And they'll be more like the people you already get along with.. which will be better.

Try being the friend you would love to have. Start with friendship first and try not looking just for sex. Avoid the bar scene and join a group or club. Try the Unitarian Church, they are very open to the alternative lifestyle. Good luck.

Hmm...let's start with your self-deprecating humour, which at times could be confused with low self-esteem.

Let's assume you're just scarcastic and funny, with an acute sense of humour.

Now let's talk about Toledo. I've heard interesting things about this mid-west city. Ever think of moving to Italy?

You are just unlucky. Some people are like that. Luck has a habit of changing though.

find a good therapist.... you will not have a decent relationship with a decent person until you are cool with yourself... sounds to me like you settle for less than quality partners because that's how you see yourself... therapy my friend....
