In her collection of short stories-under the duvet, she repeatedly substitutes certain words with the word "yoke", does anyone know what this is? And is it a typical irish word? thanx

"..."Yoke" can be used to refer to an object or thing. Example "Have a look at this Yoke here." or "Do you like your new car? Yes it's a nice Yoke" You will hear this usage a lot in Ireland..."

These days in Ireland, a Yoke refers to almost anything. It is commonly used to refer to a car.
