Especially for those against abortion, if you knew that another Saddam Hussein was about to be born, would it be a sin to abort the fetus?

If you're looking for a hypothetical example to get anti-abortion zealots to change their thinking, this is not it. There is absolutely NO way to know that a fetus will grow up to be evil. A better hypotetical would be this:

Suppose you determine that a fetus is acephalic-- without a cerebral cortex. It cannot survive outside the womb, and if it did, it would be incapable of thought. Why not abort it rather than make a woman go through labor for nothing? Would you allow an exception then?

It seems like a no-brainer, but I couldn't get the zealots to go along with that. Not even to save the life of the woman! They would force her to deliver a baby that would die anyway, at the cost of her own life!

It is impossible to know if an unborn baby will become a Hitler or an Albert Einstein. There is no way to know. It all depends on whether or not you see the unborn baby as a human being or an animal. Conservative Republicans tend to be anti-abortion and Democrats tend to be pro-abortion. I believe we all have a right to life otherwise you wouldn't be here right now (something to thank your parents for).

So, in your scenario - if we knew that a Saddam Hussein was to be born - somehow like in the Twilight Zone - then I don't think it would be good to abort him. I think a better approach at giving him a better life like a child in the United States where he would be educated and not taught to hate a certain racial group. I believe that humans are greatly influenced by what is around them. Just my opinion.

Here's the thing...nature abhors a vacuum. If it wasn't Saddam Hussein, it would have been some other petty tin-pot dictator, so your question fails the test of logic unless you're supposing that anyone born in the Middle East who might have the ability to become a fascist oppressor needs to be aborted before birth. You aren't acctually saying that, are you?

Yes.
Every baby born has the potential for great good or evil, you'd abort many Mother Theressa's trying to prevent one Saddam.

No, because evil isnt born, evil is raised. Do you think Hussein would have turned out like he did if he grew up w/ some christian family in America? Of course not.

Not that it would be possible to predict such a thing, but yes, I think that it would be to benefit of everyone else if such a fetus were aborted. By the way, I'm pro-choice and proud of it!:)
