Aside from cramps that might make you a little more uncomfortable than usual, there is absolutely no reason why you cannot ride a horse during your period. Male horses will not react at all, even if you are riding an ungelded stallion. Just make sure that your sanitary products are up to the task and you're good to go.

Honestly anything you hear about not being able to ride a male horse while on your period is a load of CRAP...
* it is completely safe and completely fine to ride ANY horse while on your period and it makes absolutely NO difference in the animals behaviour WHATSOEVER.
It is up to you whether or not YOU are comfortable with riding during those times, but your decision does not have to be based on the horse at all. the horse has nothing to do with it. dont worry!!! ( i have a thoroughbred gelding and i ride him all the time when its that time of the month )

It actually helps it. it isn't as heavy. The whole never go by a male on your period thing is a myth. Unknowingly I was riding a stud on mine and I was just fine. But If you don't feel confortable enough to ride a male horse on your period or ride at all that's up to you. Best wishes!

I've been riding horses for years. There is no effect to the horse what so ever. The notions of it making male horses act stupid is false (I have never had a probelm with my males when I'm on my period). Also making your cramps worse is BS. It's a known fact that any type of physical excercise on your period will LESSEN cramps (And I can say horseback riding did for me when I'm on mine).

Definitely. I've been riding mares, geldings, and stallions while on my period for over 6 years. Not a problem yet. A good tip though, make sure you wear a thinner pad or a tampon. Riding can really agitate that area and make it sore if wearing a maxi pad. And yes, riding can most certainly help with cramps.

based on my own expeiance its perfectly fine to ride any horse on your period, but you need to be more cautious around studs and studdish geldings, not that they necassarily get mean but more than once i have had an overly friendly stud nip me in the butt during that time of the month. seems that they get more mouthy than anything.. assuming they even notice, i think you should be fine, i'd just keep 1 eye peeled while working with him.

Yes! In fact, riding a horse might provide you with some exercise that might help alleviate menstral cramps! Menstration is a normal occurence and shouldn't sideline your normal activities. Make sure that you are protected from spotting or leaking and have some fun!

Of course it's fine to ride while on your period. A stallion and certainly a gelding could care less what time of the month it is for you! My stallion has NEVER shown out or changed his behavior based on my menstrual cycle. Mares are what affects them, not women. Get out and get some exercise, it's really good for you.

Hogwash, ride your horse. There are women riding stallions everyday while they are on their periods. If he acts up then he needs to be taught some manners and should be made to behave like a gentleman. I seriously doubt that any feminine human odor would make a horse misbehave. If anyone has any CONCRETE proof, I would love to see it.
