I know there is a lot of debate and diversity within the US (fairly evident), and this is not an attack on my behalf whatsoever, but most people around in the world see a big bunch of ignorant self centred idiots who don't know the first thing about the rest of the planet nor give a flying you know what. and i'm not jjust talking about the french. doesn't that make you crazy???

hey wow hang on people, it's not an attack. I grew up in the states, i'm not making generalisations, but you have to admit a lot of the world is angry! I would hate to have a collective finger of billions pointed at me (no particular finger implied haha everyone is so emotional about this). Honestly, no offence intended. I'm not going to take on any battles here regardless of personal opinion, just curious.

I could care less how they feel, personally. Civicly, it concerns me. However, it isn't as though the rest of the world is a pretty sight, either. Being that we are all humans, no one can claim all of the piety and shove all of the villainy upon any other, nationally speaking. Even the Soviet Union had it's saving graces, and I am a Cold War US Navy veteran. I disagree with Iran's way, but, I respect that it's theirs, as a nation.

I had one of the most fun conversations of my life talking with a French farmer, near Switzerland, about dirt one day. He and I came together, not as an American and a Frenchman. We came together as agrarians. It's all about respect and simplicity. Anyone can hurl an insult, as a monkey hurls dung, but, who can look to their fellow man, in a place so far away and share something real?

People who hate America probably know nothing of America outside what they see on the news or read about in periodicals. People the world over are the same. Some are smart, most are stupid. Many are friendly, some are jackasses. The way people are is generally the way people are no matter where they may be from.

So those who think all Americans are ignorant and self-centered have probably talked to one maybe two Americans at best and see the things we put out there for the world to see. Situations such as Iraq, Hurricane Katrina recovery, and even the Anna Nicole Smith death (which by the way nobody cares about no matter where they live).

It doesn't necessarily make me crazy because unlike many of those people who bash Americans, I know many an American. And I know some are good and some are bad, just like I know of the people I have met in different countries including France, some are good and worth talking to and others are worthless. I don't get crazy about people's ignorance toward others because I tend to not associate myself with those people. There are too many good people in the world to spend all your time paying attention to the idiots. Thanks and have a nice day.

My thinking is this goes with the job. We are currently a super power and with that comes resentment. I have been to other countries and have seen the same thing, that they believe themselves to be NO1. I do agree with some of you writing in that we have some serious infrastructure problems, such as education and health care. We probably need to rethink our foreign policies as well, this country is beginning to show signs of difficulty supporting it's lifestyle and people. To call all Americans or to insinuate that all Americans are viewed as stupid is not correct. If they thought that then we would not have foreigners here, I'm more concerned with the amount of out sourcing of jobs, the number of manufacturing jobs to foreign countries than. I'm tired of seeing elderly people standing line at the walmart pharmacy cutting there prescription in half so they can eat. Those are issues that I'm more concerned about, not what some guy thinks of me 5,000 miles away.

No, that does not make me crazy but it certainly makes me depressed since it looks as if this opinion is soon to be fact. Our schools are producing a high percentage of these ignorant self centered idiots because our educational system has been controlled by these same idiots (and our government) for years. There is no longer an effort to teach patriotism, geography and how the other nations live, that in the real world, there are times when you may need to DEFEND yourself, that there are two sides to most disagreements and that one needs to take the side that is THE RIGHT side, not the side that would be disagreeable to them if that side prevailed. All I see is a bunch of left wing professors in our colleges that are churning out these idiots that are totally brainwashed and can not think for themselves that join the ACLU and other anti-American organizations and are assisting in bringing their country to its knees. Of course, many of these nations that are looking down their noses at the Americans are just as ignorant and only God can help the world now, so please pray with me for His help.

They may laugh but remember the old saying "whomever laughs last laughs best"

Our style of governing leaves much to be desired yet it has propelled us to be the most powerful nation the world has ever known.

Though they laugh they do enjoy being free of Fascism. They do enjoy the variety of hair color and eye color. They do enjoy their free enterprise. The list is endless as is their lack of gratitude.

Doesn't drive me crazy it just demonstrates that they are the ones that are truly a bunch of ignorant self centered idiots that love to spout such rhetoric because it makes them feel empowered because it is the "ONLY" way they can attain such an emotion. Not by reality but by illusion.

first of all, verify your graph lower back. That graph needless to say exhibits that Russia has extra nuclear weapons than the U. S.. Secondly, in the early 1960's, the NPT (Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty) become accompanied. It recognized 5 nuclear weapons states (US, u.s., uk, France, China) and forged anybody else in the international as a non nuclear weapon state. under the words of the treaty, the NWS promised to disarm and the NNWS promised to no longer seek for weapons. it is the often widely agreed to treaty in historic previous, with in basic terms approximately a hundred ninety signatories, and in the ninety's, the signatories met and desperate to make it an enduring treaty. The signatories, no longer the U. S. - mutually as the U. S. certainly performs a substantial place in the treaty, it is not a US project, it incredibly is a international one. finally, we are best with the help of occasion, with the help of no longer utilising our nukes and reinforcing the theory to accomplish that could be awful, and with the help of slowing lowering our arsenal, as we promised to do under the NPT.

The rest of the world and some enlightened Americans know that America is consummate gluttony. The propaganda fed to the masses is: America is #1. But little do they know its a mirage of blue smoke and mirrors. They are still #1 at being the world's dumping ground garbage disposal. They consume everything and anything without an iota of discrimination. Supersize it and they will eat it. Put a SALE sign on it and they will buy it. They have no access to good health information or good care. They consume an astronomical amount of Rx medication and the medical industry promotes drugs like a local street dealer. They don't know they are allowing the fast food and medical industries kill them with junk food and the promise that any new drug will cure your cholesterol , heart , anxiety, restless leg and migraine headache, etc... syndromes. Americans are totally disinterested and ill informed about the rest of the world and have no idea of how the rest of the world thinks about them.

We don't care. Most of the rest of the world owes their life to us. Anyway, are you so well traveled that you know what the rest of the world thinks? The whole world. The Bantu Bushman, the Siberian coalminers see me as an ignorant self centered idiot? How amusing.
As for not knowing the first thing about the rest of the planet, that statement is so ludicrous as to be, what word would you use? Idiotic. You seem to be fairly conversant with idiocy.
Make me crazy? No, your jealousy is well founded. You are a nothing and prove it by your message.

What else should we expect when we allow our congress to be taken over by a bunch of liberals.. now we are going to look more foolish to the world.. You might want to rethink your thoughts about America and Americans. First don't believe what you see on TV they tend to pigeon hole the owners point of view to keep their jobs.. and second the last time I looked America is a melting pot of all nations and if we are fools all the other nations are fools too.. So one fool to another we just need to get along....

Nope! Americans are a bit self centered and arrogant. But I deal with people all over the world in my line of work. And the people in other countries from Europe to Asia are just as arrogant. Plus they are big liars that take no responsibility for their actions. And that's from first hand experience.
