has anybody bought sims 2 and have not been able to get it going because the screen on the computer is not big enough, i have been told i need a graphics card which costs £50.00 , surely there is a cheaper way, any body out there that knows before i spend another £50 on something that someone will tell me ,(i knew that!) next week??

my computer is only 6 months old and is a new flat screen and is a packard bell. so it is not old, unless 6months is old to some!!

Hi, not sure if this will solve it or not BUT have you downloaded the Patch from the Sims2 website?

Failing that, I suppose you could spend out on the new Sims 2 Life Stories & take your copy of the Sims 2 back to the shop (or wherever). These games do not require a video card - more about them on this link:

Who told you you need the graphics card? Was it the game or someone else? It may just be that you need to alter the screen resolution in your tools menu.

Maybe you should try talking to someone from technical support on the sims website. I also have found a very good website called Ask Dave Taylor he gives good answers and researches them first. He is quick at answering why not try that. www.askdavetaylor.com

I had the same problem...
..i bought the graphics card...
...it still didn't work.
So i sold the damn game on ebay =[

I have sims and its great. Idk why it wont come up on your pc. maybe bc its old? idk.
