I am directing my first professional theatre production and am beginning to sort out contracts with my actors. However, I've no idea what a good contract looks like, and can only find outdated American ones on the net - are there any actors/directors out there who can help me?
Thank you!

I'm not quite sure why you, as the director, are being asked to do what would normally be the task of the theatre's Managing Director...or administrative personnel.

Secondly, there are about a thousand different types of professional contracts that theatres use with actors; it all depends on the size of the theatre, the budget of the show, etc. Is your production under the auspices of any performing arts union(s)? If so, THEY'RE the ones you need to talk to about what language is required for a contract with an actor.

If you're truly in a position where you have to cobble these things together for yourself, there's really not all that much that needs to be included: term of contract, schedule, rate of pay, etc.
