Hermann Goering, Hitler's propaganda minister explained it well.

" Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

How do Conservatives feel about being Conned?

Goering, Goebbels, A typo to which I stand corrected. However, the basic tenet of the quote still stands, How does it feel to be Conned, CONS.

Sounds awfully familiar...sounds something like Bush has done.

I remember that he was losing support for the war, suddenly we were being bombarded by the media, the threats of chemical warfare on our own soil. "Make sure you buy plenty of duct tape, oxygen masks and water." Basically, scaring the entire nation to gain support.

The saddest thing of all in this mess is that the members of both sides have forgotten that we are all in this together. There was a time when Americans could disagree, and still be reasonably polite and respectful of each other. Now, it seems we treat each other as the enemy. We treat each other as if the other side is Hitler, or in Laden, or Lenin, or Stalin.

This insanity has resulted in an inability to WORK TOGETHER to find a solution that serves this country well. It sows the seeds for our destruction. Our enemies will slowly work it towards their ends.

Sad

So you are saying terrorists don't exist.

Europe tried ignoring and then appeasing the terrorists throughout the 70s and 80s. Negotiating with terrorists doesn't work. Only after Europe copied the way the US dealt with terrorists and kidnappers did the situation go away.

History is a great thing. But you should study it so you can take things in context, not just search for quotes that promote your leftist agenda.

Comparing Bush to Hitler is like comparing Bin Laden to Ghandi. Pull your head out of whatever cave you are living in. You dont have to like it, may not want to believe it, probably a little scared. but make no mistake....This President has probably saved your rear and your Freedom to criticize him..... We only hear about the failures during times of war, not the successes, because to gloat on the many successes who jeopardize other operations going on. Funny how we have not had an attack since 9/11

How do you feel about picking and choosing quotes from history?

Here's one for you:

"Those whom do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it.".

This is something the left is all too good at. Conning the people and then never following through!

Well first you need to get your facts straight. Goebbels was Hitler's propaganda minister, not Goering. Why should I believe anything else you say if you can't get the person who said the quote right.

Think nothing of it because it is a weak, baited question to tie "cons" to nazis, which is just not true. It is petty game of name calling and self proclaimed truthers fail miserably because they do lack truth a facts.

Propaganda is not a tried and trusted method but is used by people who claim to know truth and then they try to force their truth on others. The self proclaimed "freethinkers" are really weak propagandist.

uh im sorry guy but i wasnt conned. i agree that it was the right decision to remove a man who was later convicted of genocide by his own people. yeah i think that our country should make a few sacrifices if it saves some lives. i also voted for the conservatives because of moral issues such as abortion. As well as economic issues such as tax cuts. so in short i wasnt conned i made an educated decision and i believe the correct decision. fear had nothing to do with it.

You hit it right in the nail. They have been duped the same way Germany had in the 1940s. Now if they could only realize it.

Goering was in charge of the Luftwaffe, you seem to be the product of the liberal school system. As for the quote it seems
to serve the Democrat well. They are the ones who control the
Left wing media.

No matter how much information you give the Bush supporters, they will never see the light. It is like they are obsessed. How did Bush manage to con all these people.
