heck we have all black cable and radio, black beauty pagents, black colleges... no other race can have these things... arent we all one color here in america??? isnt this just a new form of racism?

This question has been asked so many times and quite frankly I am sick of it. Once you gain some power, why don't you go take down everything black? Until then be quiet. You have nothing to do with any of it, and why does it hurt you? You don't have a t.v. station? What about CMT? MTV? Oh, no, they play all music videos right? LOL. Aside from the rapping cowboy you tell me how many blacks you see on that station. And don't say that BET is not a television station shared by everyone now. It is called Black Entertainment Television, but it is truly not that anymore. Maybe you should go and write someone and find out if you can change it. If you don't have that much enthusiasm then shut your mouth. Ranting on here isn't helping you, you are promoting other people to come in and be ignorant and they will eventually start the racial slurs against blacks and whites and it's just old and sickening. Hey, there's a beauty pageant out there for plus sized women, it's called "Fat Chance", do you want to get on how skinny women don't have beauty pageants? Because clearly the Ms. America pageant isn't for thin women. Oh, and also you don't have to be pretty to be in Ms. America's pageant. Should we get into colleges that are predominantly white? Wait, but blacks can go to them, they're just not smart enough right? Wrong...they are located in places that where if you don't have the money to attend, you can't. We are not one color if you continue to look at color. And your question is clearly geared at color -"Why do we always have to appease the blacks?" You can't get over it, and a lot of individuals that come on Yahoo Answers can't get past color. That's why I believe Yahoo should start deleting the accounts of those people who ask these questions over and over. If you don't like all of this "black" stuff then stop watching, stop worrying and stop questioning it.
For Angela: Not only will he get slammed by the "Black" people on yahoo, but it looks to me by the avatars that there are a few white people slamming too. Some of you people that answer just kill me.

Do you think in China, Japan, Russia, Africa they hold a white beauty pagent, have white colleges, have all white Radio Stations with White DJ's?
In America Blacks have earned their place to stand up and be counted. A good thing? perhaps, an accepted thing? Indubitably. A prejudice thing? Always. Sadly man hasn't quite came to terms with different colour.
Myself I've dated a black woman for 12 years and I am white. We still get the nasty head shaking looks when in public.

If you look around, you will notice that there are many all white colleges, all white TV channels, all white this and all white that. There are also mexican cable channels and asian cable channels. Noone is "appeasing" anyone. These are all just markets that seek a certain demographic. Appeasement would be giving something away to one group to make them happy. None of the things you have listed is a giveaway or an appeasement of any kind.

we only have black colleges and products and etc. because there was a time where if we didn't have our own things, we would have nothing. We have a month because in the past schools didn't teach about positive things many black people have done. we developed our own TV shows and stations because before black people didn't have anything positive to relate to in the media.
if you think this is racism, you are ignorant of the struggles us black people had to endure. you're ignorant that we only have these things because of the racism you're ancestors inflicted on us. many people don't understand that today because the racism has died down.

We have shows like Friends with an all-white cast. Magazine covers depicting whites a majority of the time. Minorities were not allowed to participate in things we white take for granted, for ages. It is not "us" appeasing the "blacks" as you say. They are carving an identity for themselves that we have denied them in our teaching, books and media. Appeasing them sounds racist. As if we deemed them worthy to do what we have been doing. Check your own racism, dude.

I don't get it either. They get their own channels, college funds, and many other things. This is still implying racial supremecy. It doesn't matter if they were oppressed for a long time, because they aren't anymore. Society has passed that, and we should live on strict equality.
