my carbon monoxide alarm which is located near my front door just went off. Everyone says that the alarms in my nieghborhood go off for no reason, but Im still worried. wut do i do?

Open the windows! then Call the fire department and have them check it out, then go outside. There is no need to taking chances.

Be sure and bundle up - you may have to wait a bit for the fire deptartment to get there. Since you are alive and I assume not feeling drunk, you dont have to rush outside like you would for a fire - but do follow these instructions.

If you aren't dead yet, then good. Check the reading on the alarm and compare it to the manual which came with it. These alarms generally do not go off for "no reason". It might be time to get your local evironmental quality guys involved to check this out. There may be a real heath issue here. Your city, county or state government should have a listing for places to call.

grab you gas mask and run for the celler
dont take any chances
figure out later what is going on.

Call your fire dept. or gas company and have them come and and check your home. Be safe.
