I enjoyed last nights episodes alot, getting to peek into Bill Adama's past. But I had a question, his decision to explosively decompress the air lock and have Cally and Tyrol picked up by the raptor seemed hasty. I mean if they can get the raptor outside the air lock and have the crew protected with EVA suits, why not just send someone out to plug the hole from the outside? Then there is no need to expose Cally and Tyrol to vaccum for any amount of time.

He only had 30 minutes to come up with a plan and decide which one to do. Sealing it up would've taken too much time. They would have had to fuse it completely, then somehow get back into the airlock and somehow add pressure. Plus, the episode would've been boring that way.

They didn't have enough time...Cally and Tyrol were about dead by the time the raptor got there anyway. It was an exciting episode. Of course there are very few Battlestar episodes that aren't exciting!
