I mean they understand the instructions we have told them but, do they really understand what we speak?

yes they understand you my dog acts like a kid when i tell him to put his toys in the basket he does he minds better than my child does

You pet does not know exactly what you say, but they can be trained to voice comands. When your pet hears a certian tone lenth(the words) they can understand what that means, such as a pets name. They here it, and thing to come to you. They don't know it's their name, though. Also a pet can sence feelings, such as anger, and are able to interpret what you say You pet hear's you , but at a much more pasific scale than humans. You here, Barky! Bark! Bark! But your dog here's your voice, it's emotions, and the tonal structure of it.

So technacly, yes.

Yes they understand commands , but not sentences . This Is What Your Dog Or Cat Would Hear >

Maybe, I did learn to speak chinese by myself, after a few years, it entered into my ears and one day i was able to understand everything that people are talking without consulting a dictionary - that is incredible we humans have this gift of understanding languages just by their sounds ???????? so i started to understand that people were talking about me .... gossiping ...

Yes, they do. For example, dogs, if you tell them to sit, they will sit. Also if you are talking about the dog/cat, they know that you are talking about them, consquently, the dog most likely will come to you, thinking that you want him/her. I truly believe they do.

most pets only hear tones so if you are taking him to the vet you should use the tone that you use for praise or if he just ripped up a piece of paper, yell, and use one tone while pointing at the paper

once the pet gets to know you well, they definitely understand what you are communicating to them.
