You might want to try and clear out all unnecessary cookies and maybe getting some more memory, because if the IE7 took a lot of memory it will take longer to access old internet files/history files. Plus, you might want to look up mozilla firefox for your internet explorer, its completely free and its history management is awesome, you could change your theme and it takes less memory. Just a thought.

I had this problem and it ended up that IE7 was checking every single page for phishing. To see if this is what's happening, click on the down arrow up near "Tools" in the upper right side of your browser window. Then scroll over "Phishing Filter."

If it says something about "Turn off automatic Phishing..." click that option. This should allow you to only manually check for phishing scams instead of having your browser check every single page. It speeds things up considerably.

Hope it helps!

IE in general is a huge program - so huge that it's considered to be in a category called "Bloatware". Try downloading a browser called firefox. It's smaller, faster, and easy to use.

Don't delete IE, though. Microsoft will not let you download any updates from their site except via IE.
