My grandmother, on my father's side, came from Lankashire (spell?), England. She was born in 1896, and lived to be 106. After she passed, I looked up on the inernet her maiden name, Postelthweite, in the area she grew up in England, and found several people with that name. I figured I was related to some of them, and wrote to each of them telling them I may be related, as my grandmother grew up there. Needless to say, I never received a response. That was a few years ago, so someday I might try it again.
My great grandmother, on my mother's side, was from Sweeden. I have not looked into her past, I have no clue what part of Sweeden she was from.

Yes, my family tree goes back to England and then to Norway with names I can't even pronounce. I can go back to the 1500's.
